Citygate is partnering with Bournemouth Foodbank to help local families in crisis celebrate Christmas together.
This year Bournemouth Foodbank is on track to deliver 200 hampers to families in crisis this Christmas. Each family will receive everything they need to eat and celebrate together for three days. The hampers will include fresh and frozen food, Christmas goodies and a message of hope from the Bible.
Over 6 tonnes of food will go out on Thursday 20 December to feed as many as 1,000 people in need. This is made possible thanks to an incredible amount of support from local churches, businesses and other community groups. This really is a massive team effort!
Citygate Church will be involved in four different ways:
The pastoral team will refer clients in need. Please bring any families you know could benefit from a hamper to the attention of the team.
We will help fill the hampers by collecting tins of sweetcorn. Please bring your food donations with you to church. The collection baskets are in the foyer. Sunday 2nd December will be the last opportunity to donate to the hamper appeal.
Members are invited to apply to deliver hampers. Contact your community group leaders for more information.
