History of mission in Citygate

Local and international mission has always been at the centre of Citygate church. Since our early days of meeting on a Sunday in a school hall, reaching the nations has been on our heart.

What began as a short trip to east Europe many years ago has developed into sending and supporting missionary families in India, Portugal and South Sudan.  In South Sudan we have transitioned from a situation where we gave on-going financial support to one where we are helping the team there develop enterprises that will enable them to be self-sustaining.

We also respond to global crises such as the recent earthquake in Nepal (April 2015) where we are working with local churches to provide accommodation and new livelihoods for families affected. We have for over 10 years supported bible translation and community development in South Sudan.

Through Guy Miller and other individuals in the church, our international involvement has very strong links with the work being done by Commission. Our future connections as a church are set to grow as opportunities continue to develop in these and other nations.
