Hiring Facilities At St Swithun's Centre


Rooms available for hire at the St Swithun's Centre


We hire out our beautiful 100-year old building for a variety of events such as conferences, lectures, parties, exhibitions, funerals, weddings, and training days. Our recently refurbished building makes the perfect venue for hosting different types of events due to its generous proportions and natural lighting. We have limited onsite parking (approx 25 vehicles), but ample pay & display street parking is available locally, as well as the site being serviced by excellent local transport.

Please find the 2010 price list below, and kindly note that settlements are due within 14 days before your event to secure your booking. If you have any queries regarding your booking, please contact James Druce using the details at the bottom of this page.


The Main hall

Dimensions: 29m by 16m (464 m²)
Seating: 480 theatre style

A beautiful space in the heart of the 100 year old building, this large room has basic staging facilities, separate toilets, Audio visual facilities and a full PA system (subject to availability). The room also benefits from a large refreshments area with hot water urn and a commercial kitchen for function catering (subject to availability on request).

The Shaw Suite

Seating: approx 110 theatre style

A modern room adjacent to the main hall with separate toilet facilities, under floor heating and separate entrances. The room benefits from soft chair conference quality seating for approx 70 people, and is also served by a small kitchenette with hot water urn. Perfect for hosting successful community events, receptions, exhibitions and meetings.

Wedding Venue Hire & Receptions

The spacious hall makes a fantastic venue for the perfect wedding, with light spaces and neutral colours, the hall makes a great backdrop for colourful flowers and decorations .The facility is available for wedding hire Monday to Saturday, and can include the services of a registrar (appointed person). Citygate church has a policy of the couple completing a satisfactory marriage preparation course – please call for details.

£375 excluding the services of the Appointed Persons (Registrar is £50 surcharge) = £425
-For the hire of the Main Hall only, for the ceremony

Wedding Receptions:
Use of reception rooms have an additional charge of £100 for the Main hall and £90 for the Shaw Suite for the remainder of the day.


The Tudor Hall

A separate Tudor style hall adjacent to the main building makes a great training and break-out venue with four separate rooms of varying sizes, the facility benefits from a small kitchenette, separate toilet facilities and mini-desk chairs. The facility is in use each week day, however is available for hire most evenings, all day Saturday’s and during school holidays.

Full terms and conditions apply when hiring our facilities (written and available on request), however a summary includes:

· Payment of invoices should be made within 14 days
· Returning the facilities to the state of cleanliness in which they are hired (cleaning required)
· All breakages & damage must be made good
· Extra cleaning/repair/replacement may be charged for appropriately
· The hirer is responsible for ensuring emergency exits are kept clear throughout the hire period, and are responsible for the behaviour and safety of their guests

Discounts available for regular bookings at the booking managers discretion
