Afternoon Trip to Swanage

On Thursday 28th June, Oasis spent the afternoon on a steam train, travelling along the railway and gliding through the beautiful Purbeck countryside on a sunny summers afternoon.  Wisps of smoke from the engine sauntered lazily by while we relaxed in the comfortable and elegant surroundings, passing the magnificent ruins of Corfe Castle.

Twenty two of our over 60's had a brillient day out on a nostalgic journey from Norden Park to the seaside town of Swanage, where we enjoyed a cream tea in the carriages of the Wessex Belle. 

We had such fun together and the whole atmosphere was very friendly.  From the engine driver to the ticket collector, they were all dressed in period costume, giving the whole railway a great feeling of stepping back in time.

It was a wonderful afternoon trip out, and we're looking forward to the next one!!
